A proposed housing development on the outskirts of Oxford has raised concerns about the strain it may put on local resources. The scheme, which is due to be considered this month, involves
the construction of 1,450 homes on land north of Bayswater Brook by Christ Church College in partnership with Dorchester Residential Management.
The development is set to begin in 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by 2035, subject to approval by district and city councillors. Despite the inclusion of a new primary school and contributions towards expanding secondary and SEN education, some councillors fear that the development may cause overwhelming pressure on GP surgeries and increase traffic congestion at Headington Roundabout.
