US Ambassador to Poland, Mark Brzezinski, has stressed the urgent need for Poland to break free from its dependence on coal and Russian energy sources, emphasizing that nuclear power

is the optimal solution for achieving energy independence.

In an interview with Polish news outlets money.pl and wp.pl, Brzezinski highlighted the strategic importance of Poland’s investment in nuclear energy. He commended Poland's decision to partner with an American company for its first nuclear power plant, stating, "Poland is on the right track by undertaking cooperation in the construction of its first nuclear power plant with an American company."

Brzezinski pointed out the critical role of nuclear power in supporting Poland's growing economy. "The Polish economy is on an upward wave, and the next generation has high expectations for economic growth. The country must be able to power itself. And the only energy source that can provide this scale of power is the atom. That's why it's smart for Poles to do it," he remarked.

He also confirmed that the US government is significantly involved in financing Poland’s first nuclear power plant, providing billions of dollars through Exim Bank and other entities.

Regarding the possibility of French company Électricité de France (EDF) constructing a second nuclear power plant in Poland, Brzezinski advised caution. He emphasized the benefits of consistency in technology and design to ensure cost and time efficiency. "If you change the technology and change the builder, be ready for the construction process to be less efficient," he warned.
