British Queen celebrates

Brunei's Prince Abdul Mateen, known for his striking looks and military service, has formalized his union with commoner fiancée Yang Mulia Anisha Rosnah in a grand 10-day royal wedding.

The 32-year-old prince, previously recognized as one of Asia's most eligible bachelors, had unveiled his relationship and engagement in December, surprising his online fanbase.

The bride, 29, granddaughter of an adviser to Brunei's leader Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, owns a fashion and tourism company. The royal ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman palace, with Prince Abdul Mateen donning ceremonial uniform and his bride adorned in a long white dress and jewels.

Approximately 5,000 wedding guests attended, including royalty from Saudi Arabia and Jordan, Indonesia's President Joko Widodo, and the leader of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The newlyweds made a public appearance in an open-top Rolls Royce during a lavish procession through Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.

Prince Abdul Mateen, a social media sensation with over 2.5 million Instagram followers and a strong presence on TikTok, often shares glimpses of his life and special occasions. The royal couple's wedding events were broadcast on local TV stations, with citizens lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the procession.

The prince, the 10th child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, holds no immediate claim to the throne but has garnered significant attention online. The wedding festivities began on January 7 and reached its peak in a large ceremony on Sunday, with the Islamic marriage ceremony formalizing the union on Wednesday.
