An alliance formed by three opposition parties has emerged victorious with a majority of seats in Poland's parliamentary elections. The election commission in Warsaw officially declared the
results after completing the vote count. This outcome signals the end of the ruling conservative-nationalist party, PiS's, absolute majority.
The final tally reveals PiS with 35.4%, followed by the centrist Civic Coalition, led by former Prime Minister Donald Tusk, at 30.7%. The center-right Third Way secured 14.4%, the left-wing Lewica garnered 8.6%, and the far-right Confederation for an Independent Poland received 7.2% of the vote.
With these results, President Andrzej Duda must now select a candidate for the position of prime minister.
