Defence Secretary John Healey MP visited the British Army's headquarters in Andover today, where he expressed his gratitude for the professionalism and dedication of
Army personnel. The headquarters plays a vital role in ensuring the UK's safety at home and its security abroad.
During the visit, hosted by General Sir Roly Walker, Chief of the General Staff, Healey met with a range of personnel, including apprentices, soldiers, and civilians. He received briefings on the Army’s operations and contributions to national security both domestically and internationally.
John Healey reaffirmed the Government's commitment to strengthening the nation's contract with those who serve and have served, acknowledging their significant role in UK defence. Personnel had the opportunity to ask questions about the Defence Secretary's and the new Government’s priorities regarding the Armed Forces and veterans.

Since 2010, Andover has been the home of the British Army's headquarters, with over 2,000 military and civilian personnel working there.
