Brits can expect a warm respite just in time for spring as a heatwave with temperatures soaring to 30C in Spain moves across the Channel.
According to weather maps from WXCharts, a plume of hot air is making its way towards the UK later this week.
Starting from Wednesday, warm air will settle over Britain, with temperatures gradually rising throughout the week.
Some parts of the UK could see temperatures as high as 17C, with the North East experiencing late teen temperatures and the North West and Midlands reaching around 12C.
London is forecasted to have temperatures hovering around 10C.
While the weather warms up due to the heatwave from Spain, the Easter weekend is still expected to be relatively cool, with temperatures around 6C according to current forecasts.
Towards the end of March, temperatures may drop further, with early morning lows potentially reaching -1C in some areas before climbing back up to around 12C in regions like Kent, Essex, and London.
Met Office spokesperson Graham Madge explained, “Over the next day or two, we will see temperatures reaching highs of around 18C in isolated areas, several degrees Celsius above average. By the end of the week and into the weekend, we will see temperatures dropping by around five degrees as a more northerly weather pattern begins to influence the region.” Photo by Chmee2, Wikimedia commons.
