French anti-government protests have caused chaos for British travellers on the Easter weekend, dubbed "Black Thursday". Industrial action by air traffic controllers and ferry workers have led
to the cancellation of Eurostar services and some flights to, from, and over France.
British Airways had to ground around 20 flights that used French airspace, while long queues formed at the Port of Dover. Ferry operators have already requested coach companies to adjust bookings and limit trips from the port amid concerns of overcrowding.
Passport control queues have also been reportedly up to an hour long due to French officials conducting extra checks and stamping UK passports following Brexit. The port officials have held an urgent meeting with ferry operators and French authorities to avoid last weekend's 14-hour delays.
