Britain’s media regulator, Ofcom, has closed its investigation into whether individuals under the age of 18 have been accessing OnlyFans. However, the regulator stated that it will continue
examining whether the adults-only content platform provided complete and accurate information during the inquiry.
In a statement published on its website on February 4, Ofcom emphasized its ongoing engagement with OnlyFans regarding measures to protect minors from restricted material.
The investigation, launched in May, sought to determine whether OnlyFans had implemented adequate safeguards to prevent children from accessing adult content.
While concluding the current probe without any formal findings, Ofcom reserved the right to reopen the investigation should new evidence emerge.
A spokesperson for OnlyFans defended the platform’s policies, stating in an emailed response:
"OnlyFans’ age assurance measures have consistently required users to be at least 20 years old. The platform has always been confident that these protections are sufficient to fulfill our responsibility in preventing under-18s from accessing restricted material."
