British Queen celebrates

The UK’s tallest rollercoaster, Hyperia, has officially opened at Thorpe Park in Surrey. This new attraction is the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the country,

reaching speeds of over 80 mph (129 km/h).

Hyperia boasts a track length of 3,264 feet (995 meters) and a height of 236 feet, featuring the tallest loop in Europe. According to Thorpe Park director Neil Poulter, riders will experience a sensation of "weightlessness" and feel "like you're slightly coming out of your seat."

The ride, which opened on Friday, takes thrill-seekers upside down three times, including through a dive loop. It also includes a splashdown element over a lake, adding to the excitement.

Thorpe Park describes Hyperia as a "state-of-the-art rollercoaster" that delivers an adrenaline-pumping experience unlike any other. The final piece of the track was installed in March, marking the completion of this thrilling new addition to the park. Photo by Jeremy Thompson, Wikimedia commons.
