British Queen celebrates

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has reported that the expansion of London's ultra-low emission zone (Ulez) has led to "cleaner air" in the city. A Transport for London (TfL) report indicates that the

proportion of compliant vehicles in the newly extended zone has risen from 85% to 95%.

Over 57,000 motorists are now paying £12.50 per day to enter London, resulting in an estimated £715,000 daily revenue for TfL, totaling £22.8 million in the first month ending September 30.

The Ulez expansion covers all London boroughs and requires vehicles to meet specific emissions standards. Most diesel cars registered after September 2015 are exempt from the charge.

TfL's report revealed that 93,700 vehicles that failed to meet the emissions standards were driven in London during the first month after the expansion, with enforcement actions taken against non-compliant vehicles. Photo by citytransportinfo, Wikimedia commons.
