In recent developments, a third individual has been found guilty of participating in the robbery at the residence of renowned cyclist Mark Cavendish and his wife, Peta, during which high-value

watches were stolen at knifepoint. The incident occurred in Ongar, Essex, on November 27, 2021 when a gang of balaclava-clad individuals, armed with large knives, confronted the couple.

Two individuals involved in the robbery had previously been sentenced to prison for their roles. Now, Jo Jobson, aged 27, has been convicted of two counts of robbery by a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Notably, Jobson surrendered himself at a police station in June, a year and a half after authorities first issued a photo appeal identifying him as a suspect.

Mark Cavendish, originally hailing from the Isle of Man, boasts the joint record for the most Tour de France stage wins and is eager to surpass the 34 stages won by Belgian cycling legend Eddy Merckx in the forthcoming event. Additionally, he achieved an Olympic silver medal in the omnium during the 2016 Rio Games and was crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2011. Photo by David Kusserow, Wikimedia commons.
