British Queen celebrates

The coronation of Charles III is undoubtedly a global event. The ceremony was preceded by a pre-coronation reception, which was attended by Prince Jan Lubomirski and his wife Helena.

He spoke to the BBC about his acquaintance with the King and the court etiquette in effect.

The coronation of Charles III is a two-day ceremony, but various accompanying events take place around it. Three days before the coronation, a pre-coronation reception was held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, to which Prince Jan Lubomirski-Lanckoroński and his wife were invited.

The meeting was in the form of "afternoon tea", with guests served obligatory tea and light snacks.

"In the royal tent, various types of tea were served. Including, of course, the famous Earl Grey. There was also coffee, but treated as an additional thing. There were also sandwiches with various cheeses, salmon, and pastes. And a huge range of various types of paste. In Polish nomenclature, we would call it a supper, but a very extensive one," the prince told Plotek.

Prince Jan Lubomirski was present not only at the reception. The Pole appeared in a special live report by the BBC. The British journalist presented the prince as a good friend of Charles III.

"It is definitely an exaggeration to say that I know the king very well," Jan Lubomirski said at the outset. "I met His Highness about 20 years ago when he was still the Prince of Wales. He was on his journey to Poland, and we had a pleasant meeting in one of our palaces in Krakow." The Polish aristocrat also added that since then he had been invited to various receptions organized by the royal family. Photo by Janina Kowalska, Wikimedia commons.
