British online supermarket Ocado Group has announced that its long-standing partner, Morrisons, will gradually stop deliveries from its robotic warehouse in Erith, London. Instead, Morrisons
plans to increasingly rely on its facility in Dordon, located in central England.
According to a statement released on Thursday, Morrisons—an Ocado partner since 2013—will also expand its use of Ocado technology to manage more online orders directly from its store network.
This operational shift will free up additional capacity at the Erith warehouse, providing Ocado Retail, a joint venture between Ocado Group and Marks & Spencer, with the opportunity to utilize the site for its own services. Photo by Tomjhpage, Wikimedia commons.
