British Queen celebrates

The Metropolitan Police dispatched multiple teams to Euston Station in central London after a suspicious package prompted a major security alert. The station, one of the busiest transport hubs

in the UK, was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Specialist officers carried out a controlled explosion following the discovery of the package. A cordon was established around the station, and passengers were removed amid concerns about a potential bomb threat.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: "A controlled explosion has been carried out by specialist officers, and the police cordons have now been lifted." Earlier, the force had confirmed it was responding to reports of a suspicious incident and had implemented the cordons as a safety measure.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the package posed an actual threat or if it was a hoax.

This marks the second such incident in 24 hours requiring police intervention and controlled detonation. Earlier, a similar package was discovered outside the US Embassy in Nine Elms, London, leading to another controlled explosion.

Additionally, on Friday, the south terminal of Gatwick Airport was temporarily shut down after a suspicious package was reported, prompting the deployment of a bomb disposal unit.
