Two teenage brothers face attempted murder charges following a machete attack on an off-duty Metropolitan Police officer in Luton town centre. The attack occurred around 1:10 p.m. on
Saturday, November 2, outside The Point shopping centre on George Street.
The accused, Hannan Mahmood, 19, and Humar Mahmood, 18, both from Belmont Road in Luton, were taken into custody on Friday and charged in connection with the assault, as well as a related robbery. The brothers appeared in court over the weekend and were remanded in custody.
In addition to attempted murder, the Mahmood brothers face charges of wounding with intent, possession of a bladed article in a public place, robbery, and dangerous driving.
