British Queen celebrates

The Prince and Princess of Wales have stepped in to support a London food bank after it was targeted by thieves. Following a break-in at Southwark Foodbank,

operated by the charity Pecan on Peckham High Street, the royal couple made a donation to help replace £3,000 worth of stolen supplies.

During the overnight raid on Sunday, criminals forced open the shutters, stealing food, laptops, and hygiene parcels. The theft left hundreds of families without essential supplies, and the charity also faced a £600 repair bill.

The food bank expressed its gratitude on Twitter: "A huge thank you to @Kensingtonroyal who have donated to the recovery effort following the theft of £3k of food supplies from @southwarkfoodbk."

Volunteers discovered the damage on Monday morning and described the incident as "disheartening." Police are currently investigating the burglary, reviewing CCTV footage that captured the group forcing entry and stealing items.

The royal donation is part of a wider wave of support for the food bank. In a statement, the charity added: "All at @Pecan121a have been overwhelmed by the support from across society. Food stocks are being replenished now."
