British Queen celebrates

Britain’s new foreign secretary, David Lammy, is advocating for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages during his trip to Israel and the occupied

Palestinian territories on Sunday, according to the foreign office.

Lammy is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, where he will push for a “credible and irreversible pathway towards a two-state solution,” the foreign office announced.

“The death and destruction in Gaza is intolerable. This war must end now, with an immediate ceasefire, complied with by both sides,” Lammy stated.

During his meeting with Netanyahu, Lammy plans to address the issue of 680 tonnes of British aid currently awaiting entry into Gaza, as reported by the foreign office.

Lammy's Labour Party, which recently achieved a landslide victory despite facing challenges in areas with significant Muslim populations due to its stance on Gaza, has emphasized that long-term peace and security in the Middle East will be an immediate priority.
