On Sunday, May 14, Gatwick Airport experienced delays and diversions of flights after reports of drone activity close to the airport airspace. At least 12 inbound flights
had to be diverted as authorities investigated the suspected drone. Gatwick's spokesperson stated that the safety of passengers is of utmost importance and, as per established procedures, operations were temporarily suspended at 1:44 pm for the investigation.
