Monaco has been named the World Capital of Sport for 2025 by the Association of European Capitals and Cities of Sport (ACES), a recognition celebrated during ACES's annual gala at the

European Parliament in Brussels.

On December 12, His Excellency Frédéric Labarrère, Monaco’s Ambassador to Belgium, accepted the symbolic ACES flag, signifying the Principality's global leadership in promoting sports and physical activity.

This accolade highlights Monaco's commitment to advancing sports accessibility and development under the guidance of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II. A steadfast proponent of leveraging sports for peace, education, and well-being, Prince Albert has championed initiatives that position Monaco as a global leader in sports innovation and excellence.

Monaco’s government prioritizes the integration of sports into education, the provision of accessible facilities for community engagement, and the support of elite athletes competing internationally. The Principality’s dedication to hosting world-class sporting events further solidifies its status as a premier destination for athletic achievement.
