The newly appointed CEO of Twitter, Linda Yaccarino, expressed her enthusiasm for helping to transform the social media platform in her first public statement since
news broke on Thursday that she was in talks to become the next CEO.
Owner Elon Musk announced her appointment on Friday. Yaccarino, who previously modernized the advertising business at NBCUniversal, said she is committed to Twitter's future and that user feedback is essential to build "Twitter 2.0."
Musk has said that Yaccarino will help build an "everything app" with a focus on digital ads, as Twitter has been trying to reverse a decline in ad revenue since he acquired the platform last year. Photo by VMA Media, Wikimedia commons.
