British Queen celebrates

During his week-long visit to the United Kingdom, Indian Congress member Rahul Gandhi visited the University of Cambridge where he gave a speech to MBA students on promoting innovative

thinking for a global democratic environment. After his lecture, he expressed his concerns about issues such as prejudice, unemployment, and growing inequality in India.

As a member of a "deep lineage of global leaders," Gandhi was welcomed to the campus by Kamal Munir, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Cambridge and Professor of Strategy & Policy at Cambridge Judge Management School.

Gandhi, who recently completed the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a 4,000-km walk through 12 Indian states from September 2022 to January 2023, shared his experiences with the students and talked about the importance of shutting oneself down to listen to others.

He also highlighted the urgent need to focus on declining manufacturers in democratic countries and the resulting mass inequality caused by the shift of production to China. In his lecture, titled "Learning to Listen in the 21st Century," Gandhi emphasized the importance of listening compassionately to new concerns and called the art of listening impactful in promoting a democratic environment.

Gandhi stated, "We cannot afford a planet that doesn't produce under democratic institutions. Therefore, we need to rethink how to produce in a democratic environment as opposed to a coercive environment. We also need to negotiate this." Photo by Sidheeq, Wikimedia commons.
