British Queen celebrates

Princess Alexia, the second daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, will be moving to London after the summer. The 19-year-old princess has decided to

pursue her bachelor's degree in Science & Engineering for Social Change at University College London, starting in September, according to the Government Information Service.

In June, Alexia had expressed uncertainty about her future studies. During a press conference at the summer photo session, she admitted feeling "a bit stressed about choosing" and mentioned that she had applied to several universities for different courses.

One of her options had been the University of Groningen (RUG), where an email address had already been created for her. Alexia, who took a gap year last year, ultimately chose London. Her older sister, Princess Amalia, opted to study in Amsterdam two years ago.

Princess Alexia's decision to study in London marks her return to the UK after a year-long absence. Between 2021 and 2023, she attended the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales, where she completed her secondary education and earned her International Baccalaureate, following in her father's footsteps.

During her gap year, Alexia mentioned she planned to spend her time "traveling, working, and doing all sorts of things," though the specifics of her activities remain undisclosed. In September, she made her first official working visit to Rotterdam, where she christened a ship. Photo by RoyalblogNL, Wikimedia commons.
