British Queen celebrates

London, UK - A rare Ferrari F512M, stolen from former Formula One driver Gerhard Berger in 1995, has been successfully recovered by the Metropolitan Police, marking the end of a nearly

three-decade-long saga.

The vibrant red Ferrari, valued at approximately £350,000, was illicitly transported to Japan following its theft, according to authorities.

This particular Ferrari, one of a pair stolen at the time, has now been found, although its counterpart remains missing. The diligent efforts of law enforcement, working in collaboration with Ferrari and international car dealerships, led to the successful conclusion of this lengthy investigation.

Despite the recovery, no arrests have been made in connection with the theft.

The high-performance vehicle vanished in April 1995 while Berger was participating in the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola, Italy. Following a meticulous effort by the organised vehicle crime unit of the Metropolitan Police and the National Crime Agency, it was determined that the car had resided in Japan until its return to the UK in late 2023.

Ferrari, after conducting thorough examinations of the model, notified authorities in January after discovering that it had been purchased by an individual in the United States.

PC Mike Pilbeam, commenting on the recovery, remarked, "The stolen Ferrari, valued close to £350,000, was missing for more than 28 years before we managed to track it down in just four days." Photo by Alexander-93, Wikimedia commons.
