British Queen celebrates

The Minister of State (Europe), Nusrat Ghani MP, recently held discussions with Evgenia Kara-Murza concerning the detention of her husband, Vladimir Kara-Murza.

During the meeting, Ghani expressed her admiration for Evgenia Kara-Murza's unwavering advocacy on behalf of her husband. Ghani reiterated the UK Government's steadfast commitment to securing Vladimir Kara-Murza's release, emphasizing that efforts will not cease until he is freed.

Vladimir Kara-Murza, detained on what are widely viewed as politically motivated charges by the Russian authorities, has faced persecution for his opposition to Russia's actions in Ukraine. Concerns have been raised regarding the precariousness of his prison conditions, which pose a significant threat to his health and well-being.

Recognized as a dedicated human rights activist, Kara-Murza embodies the ideals of an open and democratic Russia—a vision continually undermined by Putin's regime. Ghani stressed the urgent need for Russia to release Kara-Murza immediately on humanitarian grounds, enabling him to access vital medical treatment. Photo by UK Government, Wikimedia commons.
