British Queen celebrates

Climbing on war memorials during protests in Britain could result in a new criminal offense, leading to a potential three-month prison sentence and a £1,000 fine, according to government

plans. The proposal comes in response to incidents during pro-Palestinian demonstrations, where a minority engaged in actions deemed disrespectful to war memorials.

Interior Minister James Cleverly emphasized the importance of peaceful protests but deemed climbing on war memorials an insult to these monuments of remembrance. The government plans to outline the strengthening of police public order powers this week as part of this initiative. Photo by DFID - UK Department for International Development, Wikimedia commons.
