British Queen celebrates

Pop icon Kylie Minogue made an unexpected appearance at rehearsals for the "I Should Be So Lucky" musical, which is set to premiere at the Manchester Opera House next month.

The musical takes its name from Kylie's 1987 hit single that marked the beginning of her music career.

The production tells the story of a bride who, after being jilted, decides to embark on her honeymoon with family and friends. During her two-day visit to the set, Kylie not only watched the cast rehearse but also recorded her role for the show. She will appear digitally as a "specially created character" throughout the production.

Lucie-Mae Sumner, who portrays the lead character Ella, expressed her excitement about meeting the music legend, describing it as a "dream come true." Sumner shared, "We couldn't believe it when Kylie walked through the door. I spent two incredible days with her as she's playing my fairy godmother in the show, and we recorded all of her videos together. It was a dream come true for pop royalty to watch us sing her epic songs."

In addition to Kylie's iconic hits, the musical will feature songs from the renowned music production team of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken, and Pete Waterman, who dominated the charts in the 1980s.
