British Queen celebrates

On her 77th birthday, the Duchess of Gloucester had the honor of presenting one of the initial trophies at Royal Ascot, adding a special touch to the event.

The Duchess played a key role in awarding the prizes for the Coventry Stakes, with River Tiber emerging as the victorious horse.

Accompanied by her husband, the Duke of Gloucester, the couple arrived in the royal procession, marking the commencement of day one of Ascot. They occupied the third carriage alongside Lord and Lady Bamford.

Leading the Royal Family was King Charles III, who arrived in the first carriage alongside Queen Camilla, accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Wellington.

The Princess Royal also participated in the royal procession, traveling in the second carriage. She was joined by Annabel Elliot, sister of Queen Camilla. The entourage included Her Majesty's nephew, Ben Elliot, and his wife, Mary-Clare.

Within the royal enclosure, awaiting the arrival of the procession, were Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as well as Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike.

Born as Birgitte Van Deurs in Odense, Denmark on June 20th, 1946, the Duchess of Gloucester married Prince Richard of Gloucester in July 1972. They assumed the titles of Duke and Duchess of Gloucester in 1974 and continue to serve as active members of the Royal Family. Photo by Richard_Gough from London, UK, Wikimedia commons.
