Finance leaders, companies, and philanthropies have pledged over $2 billion to support initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and enhancing climate resilience in Africa, Asia, and Latin
America, according to a joint statement by the UK and the US. The statement, issued by Grant Shapps, the UK's Energy Security and Net Zero Secretary, and John Kerry, the US Special Presidential Envoy on Climate, followed a Climate Finance Mobilisation Forum held at Windsor Castle in England. The forum aimed to facilitate increased private capital investments in emerging economies.
One notable commitment highlighted in the statement is a new partnership between Builders Vision, Mitsui & Co, and Renewable Resources Group. This collaboration will address the climate change impacts on crucial supply chains in agriculture, natural resource development, and energy. The partnership plans to identify initial projects worth at least $1 billion in emerging markets. These projects will utilize nature-based solutions, such as regenerative farming and sustainable water management, as well as technology to develop products and systems that minimize negative environmental effects.
