British Queen celebrates

Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced an £8 billion investment from Amazon Web Services (AWS) aimed at boosting the UK's digital and artificial intelligence

infrastructure. This significant investment, set to be rolled out over five years, is expected to create around 14,000 jobs across the country in sectors such as engineering, telecommunications, and construction.

Tanuja Randery, AWS Vice President and Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, emphasized the importance of this investment for the UK’s future, stating, "The next few years could be pivotal for the UK's digital and economic landscape as more organisations embrace cloud computing and AI to drive innovation, increase productivity, and compete globally." AWS plans to use this funding to help meet the growing demand for digital services and support the transformation of the UK’s digital economy.

Reeves is set to highlight this investment in a speech at Silverstone University Technical College, which collaborates with AWS on delivering digital services for its students. She described the £8 billion investment as a key milestone in the UK’s economic revival, adding, "This shows that Britain is an attractive place for business. I’m committed to creating more jobs, unlocking further investment, and improving the economy for all parts of the country."
