A fierce blaze broke out at Forest Gate police station in east London, with the entire roof ablaze, according to the London Fire Brigade.

The fire, reported at 4:17 pm on Wednesday, saw a rapid response from over 30 fire engines and 175 firefighters, who worked tirelessly to combat the flames.

Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the blaze remains unknown.

Authorities announced around 11:45 pm that night that the fire had been contained, bringing relief to the community.

The police assured residents that law enforcement operations in Forest Gate continue unaffected, with significant resources still deployed in the area. They emphasized that emergency calls should be made as usual via 999 for emergencies and 101 for non-urgent matters.

The fire brigade cautioned residents to avoid the area while firefighters work to fully extinguish the blaze, with operations expected to continue into the night. Photo by Danny Robinson, Wikimedia commons.
