The Community Security Trust (CST), Britain's main Jewish security organization, has issued a serious warning about the ongoing threats posed by Al-Qaeda and ISIS to the Jewish community.
This comes as the UK government prepares to alert the public about potential terror plots within the country.
Home Secretary Suella Braverman is set to release an update to the UK's counter-terrorism strategy, emphasizing that Islamist terrorism represents the most significant threat to UK citizens. Braverman will highlight the increasing unpredictability of terrorism, making it harder to detect and investigate potential attacks.
Reports indicate that Islamist plots account for approximately three-quarters of MI5's time, reflecting the scale of the challenge posed by these extremist groups.
The CST responded to the Home Secretary's revelations, stating that the continuous plotting of attacks by Al-Qaeda and Islamic State should not come as a surprise. These terrorist organizations have a long and deadly history, posing a significant threat not only to the Jewish community but also to society at large.
The police have confirmed the existence of around 800 live counter-terrorism policing investigations in the UK. Last year alone, 169 arrests were made in connection with terror-related offenses.
Given the gravity of the threat, the CST emphasizes the importance of vigilance among all citizens to counter these terrorist groups' activities. Heightened security measures and ongoing cooperation between authorities and the public remain crucial in safeguarding the nation from potential attacks.
