Michael O'Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, has criticized the Brexit decision, claiming that the British people were sold a "tissue of lies" about its benefits. Speaking at a
Bloomberg event, O'Leary said that Brexiteers would soon die out, and a new, pro-European generation would lead Britain to rejoin the single market within the next 15 years. He also attacked former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, whom he described as "delusional."
O'Leary predicted that leaving the EU would be a "net negative" for the UK in the next five years. He also criticized Baroness Vere, the aviation minister, and argued that visas had become too expensive for EU staff, costing up to £3,000 each.
Despite his criticisms, O'Leary said he was "more optimistic" now that Rishi Sunak and Jeremy Hunt are in office. However, he emphasized that Brexit would have negative consequences for the UK and that the benefits promised by Brexit supporters were a "tissue of lies."
