British Queen celebrates

The countdown has officially begun for the Coronation of King Charles III, which will take place at Westminster Abbey in just 50 days on May 6th, 2023. The ceremony will be presided over by

the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Queen Camilla will also be crowned at the same event.

The King and Queen will arrive at the Abbey in the morning of May 6th in the Gold State Coach as part of The King's Procession. After the service, they will return to Buckingham Palace with other members of the Royal Family in The Coronation Procession, before making a balcony appearance.

The day after the coronation, on May 7th, the UK will celebrate with thousands of street parties for the Coronation Big Lunch. Packs are already available to help communities organize celebrations, while local councils are managing street closures to ensure the event runs smoothly.

Later that evening, the Coronation Concert will take place at Windsor Castle. Ticket ballots for the event have now closed, and winners will be contacted by organizers. Meanwhile, buildings and landmarks around the country will be illuminated to mark the Coronation as night falls on May 7th.

Finally, on May 8th, a special Bank Holiday will be held for the Coronation's Big Help Out. The day will celebrate the contributions of volunteers across the UK, as well as King Charles III's lifetime of service.

As the countdown to the Coronation continues, excitement is building across the country. This historic event will mark a new chapter in the UK's monarchy, and people from all walks of life are looking forward to joining in the celebrations. Photo by Dan Marsh, Wikimedia commons.
