British Queen celebrates

National property consultancy Carter Jonas has marked the 100th anniversary of its Oxford office.

The milestone was celebrated with an event held at the Ashmolean Museum on September 19, which saw over 150 clients, colleagues, and partners in attendance. The gathering offered networking opportunities and entertainment, with guests also enjoying access to the museum’s major exhibition, Money Talks.

Carter Jonas first established its Oxford presence in 1924 following the acquisition of Castle Field & Castle. This was the consultancy's third office, following earlier openings in Cambridge in 1855 and London in 1909.

The Oxford office now boasts a team of more than 100 professionals who support both major development projects and local initiatives.

James Bainbridge, chairman of Carter Jonas, said: "We were thrilled to host our guests at the Ashmolean Museum in celebration of our 100 years in Oxford. It was a wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude for the continued support and partnership we’ve enjoyed over the years.

"While our business has evolved significantly since 1924, Oxford’s rich history and architectural heritage remain a source of inspiration. As a centre of innovation, the city continues to strive for excellence, and those of us working to support its development take pride in these qualities. We are passionate about preserving what has made Oxford renowned while ensuring its future success as a globally significant city."

Bainbridge also highlighted the company’s growth over the past century, expanding into a "truly national, multidisciplinary property consultancy" with 33 offices and over 1,000 employees across the UK. Photo by Once a nursery by Michael Dibb, Wikimedia commons.
