Passengers scheduled to travel from Bermuda to London found themselves evacuated from the plane following the receipt of a bomb threat via email at LF Wade International Airport.

The incident unfolded at 8:50 pm on Sunday evening, prompting authorities to take swift action.

According to reports, the flight, bound for London, was halted as passengers were escorted off the aircraft in response to the threat. The Bermuda Police Service, in conjunction with airport security, initiated thorough searches in and around the airport premises, resulting in the closure of local roads to traffic.

A spokesperson for the Bermuda Police Service confirmed that airport staff alerted authorities to the bomb threat received via email, triggering emergency protocols. However, following a comprehensive sweep of the area and subsequent clearance, normal airport operations resumed.

While passengers were reported safe, the flight faced an overnight delay. British Airways, prioritizing customer safety, reassured the public that standard procedures were followed, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring the well-being of passengers and staff. Efforts were underway to facilitate the resumption of travel plans for affected passengers.
