Police and emergency medical teams responded to a collision involving a car and three pedestrians on Church Street in Malvern shortly after midday today.
An elderly woman sustained life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition, while two others were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Three additional individuals suffered minor injuries that did not necessitate medical intervention.
West Mercia Police reported that investigations into the incident are ongoing, but foul play is not suspected.
The road on Church Street, Malvern, will remain closed as investigations continue.
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched three ambulances, two paramedic officers, the Midland Air Ambulance from Strensham, and a Mercia Accident Rescue Service doctor (MARS) to the scene.
A red Fiat 500 was spotted outside the clothing store Fat Face. Police vehicles and a tow truck were also present.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said, "Upon arrival, we found three women who had been involved in a collision with a car. The first, an elderly woman, was assessed and found to have sustained life-threatening injuries."
"She received advanced trauma care at the scene and en route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital via a land ambulance. The second and third women had injuries that were not life-threatening. They both received treatment from ambulance staff on-site."
"The second woman was transported to Hereford Hospital by land ambulance for further treatment. The third woman was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital by land ambulance for further treatment."
"Two additional patients presented themselves to ambulance staff, were evaluated, and discharged at the scene. No further treatment was required."
West Mercia Police added, "We are seeking information from individuals who were in the area during the incident and may have witnessed or captured dash-cam footage of the collision or the red Fiat 500 moments before the accident." Photo by Vauxford, Wikimedia commons.
