British Queen celebrates

On Wednesday, Pontegadea, the private firm of Spanish billionaire and Zara founder Amancio Ortega, announced that it had purchased a building in central London for £82 million ($102

million). The building, located in the trendy Fitzrovia area near the Oxford Circus junction, was a former office of British broadcaster the BBC that was later redeveloped.

This acquisition comes on the heels of Ortega's recent purchase of a luxury residential building in Dublin, Ireland, containing 120 apartments for rent, for approximately $109 million. In recent years, Ortega's firm has also invested in real estate assets in the United States and Canada, as part of a broader investment strategy. Photo by WiNG, Wikimedia commons.
