British Queen celebrates

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni have committed to collaborating on addressing illegal migration through the development of "innovative partnerships"

along migration routes, according to Sunak's office.

Both leaders have prioritized reducing illegal migrant numbers, and in a recent call, they discussed joint efforts to combat people-smuggling gangs and address illegal arrivals. Meloni has already established a plan with Albania to construct migrant processing centers on Albanian territory, while Sunak is exploring the option of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda, a proposal currently entangled in legal disputes.

Sunak's office released a statement on Friday, stating, "The Prime Minister (Sunak) noted the passage of the Italy-Albania agreement, and leaders agreed to continue working closely together to develop innovative partnerships across Europe and with countries along the migration route."
