Kraków, a city in southern Poland, has earned the title of the most economical winter holiday destination in Europe, according to an annual ranking compiled by discovercars.com, an

international car rental website.

The assessment considered various factors, including the average expense of a week-long hotel stay, the availability of budget-friendly dining options, the typical costs for car rentals and flights, and the price of the city's most prominent attraction.

Kraków stands out with the most affordable car rental costs among all the cities surveyed, averaging at just £100.61. Furthermore, travelers can access Kraków Airport from London's Heathrow Airport at an average airfare of only £134.80. The city's major attraction, Rynek Główny (Main Market Square), is open to visitors free of charge, as highlighted by discovercars.com.

The website also noted the presence of other appealing attractions in Kraków, such as the Wawel Cathedral and the Polish Aviation Museum, which are popular choices for tourists.

In the rankings, Prague secured the second position, while Brussels, Paris, Budapest, Tallinn, Berlin, Amsterdam, Vienna, and Copenhagen rounded out the top ten destinations. Photo by Jorge Lascar, Wikimedia commons.
