British Queen celebrates

Pop icon Britney Spears and her spouse Sam Asghari have reportedly parted ways after being married for 14 months, according to sources from US media.

The couple's initial encounter occurred on the set of one of Spears' music videos back in 2016, leading to their wedding in June 2022, held in an intimate yet star-studded ceremony.

Sam Asghari, aged 29, had been a source of support for the 41-year-old Spears during her struggles with mental health and the conclusion of her conservatorship.

Recent speculation about marital difficulties has dominated the pages of American tabloids.

Spokespeople for both Spears and Asghari have yet to provide official comments on the situation.

Breaking the news first, TMZ reported that Asghari has officially filed for divorce, a development later confirmed by an Associated Press source.

Sam Asghari, an Iranian-American model and fitness coach, crossed paths with Spears during the filming of her song "Slumber Party." His role in her conservatorship battle, alongside her father Jamie, was notable; he even donned a "Free Britney" t-shirt on Instagram before a pivotal court hearing.

Asghari proposed to Spears in September 2021, and during their engagement, they shared the joyous news of expecting their first child together. However, they later revealed experiencing a miscarriage.

Their wedding, hosted at Spears' residence in Thousand Oaks, California, saw a blend of intimacy and opulence, attended by luminaries such as Paris Hilton, Madonna, and Drew Barrymore.

Recent sightings showed both individuals without their wedding bands in public.

As of now, Spears has yet to address the reported separation through her social media channels. Her most recent Instagram post, after the news circulated, focused solely on her plans to acquire a horse.

Coinciding with this split, Spears is gearing up to release her memoir titled "The Woman in Me" in October.

Her prior marriages included a 55-hour union with childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004 and a marriage to rapper Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007, resulting in two children. Photo by Glenn Francis, Wikimedia commons.
