British Queen celebrates

British autocatalyst manufacturer Johnson Matthey has disclosed plans to slash approximately 600 positions within its support functions, aiming to optimize its focus on energy transition

initiatives by outsourcing certain business operations.

In addition to this, the company's previously announced closure of four manufacturing facilities outside the UK will lead to a further reduction of 900 roles.

The firm highlighted the necessity of streamlining its management structure, aiming for a 25-30% decrease to ensure a more balanced and efficient organization following divestments and strategic realignments.

This move aligns with Johnson Matthey's ongoing cost-saving measures initiated in 2022, aiming to achieve a yearly expense reduction of £150 million ($186.92 million) by 2024-25. Photo by Phil Whitehouse, Wikimedia commons.
