Expedia has unveiled the top ten European destinations that British travelers are most eager to visit this summer, with Mallorca claiming the number one spot. The rankings were determined

based on hotel searches made on Expedia.co.uk for trips between June and August.

Mallorca, known for its sunny beaches, secured the top position, followed by other popular holiday spots in Spain, Portugal, Greece, the Netherlands, and Turkey.

The list includes Istanbul (10), Santorini (9), Lisbon (8), Tenerife (7), Malaga (6), Rhodes (5), Amsterdam (4), Barcelona (3), and the Algarve (2). Mallorca, with its stunning beaches, scenic mountains, and charming hill towns, is hailed as the star of the Mediterranean.

Lonely Planet hails Mallorca as the Mediterranean's shining star, winning a gold medal in popularity. The guidebook extols Mallorca's radiant character, attributing it to the island's captivating beaches, breathtaking azure views, secluded mountains, and charming hill towns.

During your visit, Time Out suggests exploring the enchanting seaside village of Deia, taking a nostalgic ride on the vintage train from Palma to Soller, and indulging in a delightful wine tasting experience in the Binissalem region. Another must-see attraction is Palma's iconic La Seu cathedral, boasting an impressive collection of 61 stained-glass windows that come alive with vibrant colors when illuminated by the sun. Photo by Ruta Badina, Wikimedia commons.
