British Queen celebrates

Someone out there just became a multi-millionaire overnight.

One incredibly lucky ticket-holder has scooped the entire £10,633,323 Lotto jackpot, according to National Lottery operator Allwyn. The winning numbers from Saturday night’s draw were 06, 08, 12, 33, 49, and 59, with the bonus ball 42.

That’s right — one single player matched all six main numbers to take home the life-changing sum. Time to pop the champagne!

While no one matched five numbers and the bonus ball (which would have earned a cool £1 million), 78 players still walked away £1,750 richer after matching five numbers. Not a bad weekend at all.

With Saturday’s top prize now claimed, Wednesday’s jackpot will reset to an estimated £2 million.

Elsewhere, the Thunderball numbers were 12, 13, 15, 22, 23, and the Thunderball itself was 11. Nobody hit the top £500,000 prize this time, but three lucky players did win £5,000 each for matching five numbers.

It’s been quite the lucky streak for UK lottery players lately. Just on Friday, a EuroMillions ticket-holder bagged an astonishing £26 million jackpot.

And across the Irish Sea, a family from Cork made history back in July with Ireland’s biggest-ever EuroMillions win — a staggering £216 million. Incredibly, another family from the same county took home £208 million only a month earlier.

Among the UK’s biggest winners, few have gone public. One exception is British couple Jess and Joe Thwaite, who famously revealed themselves after scooping €215 million (around £184 million) in 2022. They even went to work the day after finding out they’d won — talk about commitment!

Of course, landing such a fortune sounds like a dream come true, but it doesn’t always guarantee happiness. Some past winners have found that sudden wealth brings unexpected challenges.

Still, for last night’s winner, life has just changed forever — hopefully for the better.

And if you didn’t win this time? Don’t worry — at least you won’t have to stress about managing £10 million overnight. Photo by Santeri Viinamäki, Wikimedia commons.
