Manchester United (NYSE: MANU), a globally renowned and accomplished sports team, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Omar Berrada as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The Club is dedicated to recentering football and on-field performance as the focal point of its operations, with Omar's appointment marking the initial stride in this direction.

Possessing extensive experience as a football executive in top-tier European football, Omar brings a wealth of football and commercial expertise, underscored by a track record of successful leadership. Currently serving as the Chief Football Operations Officer for City Football Group, overseeing 11 clubs across five continents, and having held senior roles at Barcelona, Omar is poised to drive positive change across the Club.

Manchester United's articulated ambition is to reclaim its status as a title-winning club, and the Club is delighted that Omar will play a crucial role in realizing this objective. The aim is to see the red flag, in the words of Sir Matt Busby, flying high at the pinnacle of English, European, and world football once again.

The start date for Omar will be confirmed in due course, with Patrick Stewart continuing as the interim CEO in the meantime. Photo by Ardfern, Wikimedia commons.
